Translation

Actually, it is not for 1000 days. It is just that 3 years times 365 days plus June 27 through June 30, 2008 equals 1098 days, and that is way too cumbersome to convert into a blog headline. Futhermore, our release date will not be determined until May or June of 2011. Therefore, 1000 Days sounded just about right, more or less. Having noted all that, we are humbled and thrilled (Pres. Uchtdorf would refer to the feeling as "joyfully overwhelmed") about having this marvelous opportunity to serve in La Mision Mexico Veracruz.

You saw Elder Hunt a couple of posts back. Here he is with his trainers, Elders Samayoa and Bullock, and his first baptism. He laid her under the water before she was ready and she came up gagging--mouth open, nose not plugged. He had the size advantage. It all worked. Nobody drowned.

Our son flew out of SLC today after waiting for his Visa almost 2 1/2 months. We are so thrilled he will finally be there!

Pete and Joella...I love reading your adventures! I don't comment often, but I have read every single post. I am living as a missionary mom vicariously through your elders. I love the spirit. It will be wonderful to hear all your stories in person next summer (or fall after you visit all the kids!!)
Love you both and think of you often.

He is a big guy. She obviously didn't have much to worry about.
