Translation

Actually, it is not for 1000 days. It is just that 3 years times 365 days plus June 27 through June 30, 2008 equals 1098 days, and that is way too cumbersome to convert into a blog headline. Futhermore, our release date will not be determined until May or June of 2011. Therefore, 1000 Days sounded just about right, more or less. Having noted all that, we are humbled and thrilled (Pres. Uchtdorf would refer to the feeling as "joyfully overwhelmed") about having this marvelous opportunity to serve in La Mision Mexico Veracruz.

Sorry about the quality of the picture. We didn't take it. But the story is good.

I had an interview with Elder Canseco, who is from Mexicali. He was laboring in Teziutlán in the El Pinal Ward. He is on the left. His companion is Elder Gardner from San Antonio. Elder Canseco has been in the field for 12 weeks. You can look at him and see the he is an excited and happy young missionary. He told me that at the baptism of this couple he had a marvelous experience. At the end of the baptismal service, the husband offered the closing prayer. Elder Canseco told me that while the new convert was praying, that his mind was opened and that he saw himself with this man in pre-earth life. There, they were friends and promises were made about sharing the gospel one with the other. Elder Canseco said that he wept all night long.
