Translation

Actually, it is not for 1000 days. It is just that 3 years times 365 days plus June 27 through June 30, 2008 equals 1098 days, and that is way too cumbersome to convert into a blog headline. Futhermore, our release date will not be determined until May or June of 2011. Therefore, 1000 Days sounded just about right, more or less. Having noted all that, we are humbled and thrilled (Pres. Uchtdorf would refer to the feeling as "joyfully overwhelmed") about having this marvelous opportunity to serve in La Mision Mexico Veracruz.

Traditionally we have held zone conferences in the nicer chapels. But, we decided to go into the pueblos where there are no chapels and hold them in a casa de oración for a change. One of the places we went was Misantla. Before we started the conference, we all climbed on the roof for the traditional foto. We always take a zone picture at each conference and print a copy for each missionary. Inside, we set up a portable screen and blacked out the windows with garbage bags. Out back are beautiful gardens. One of the sister missionaries offered one of the prayers in English. It took me until halfway through to recognize that it was not Spanish.
