Translation

Actually, it is not for 1000 days. It is just that 3 years times 365 days plus June 27 through June 30, 2008 equals 1098 days, and that is way too cumbersome to convert into a blog headline. Futhermore, our release date will not be determined until May or June of 2011. Therefore, 1000 Days sounded just about right, more or less. Having noted all that, we are humbled and thrilled (Pres. Uchtdorf would refer to the feeling as "joyfully overwhelmed") about having this marvelous opportunity to serve in La Mision Mexico Veracruz.

One more from 2009-- The office elders came to the mission home for New Year's Eve. Our tile floor had exploded 8 weeks before and still wasn't fixed, so we didn't have anywhere to set up a Christmas Tree. So, the elders made us one. It was a snowman signed by all of them and hand decorated. We had popcorn and other junk food. Because the all the members and non-members alike sleep until afternoon on January 1st we allow our missionaries to get together as zones and watch a movie that one day of the year from a very short list created by the zone leader council. "Nacho Libre" often seems to rise to the top. It is much more funny having lived in Mexico. Our Mexican missionaries love it. The missionaries are Elders (standing) Sosa, Brandy, Cifuentes, Hernandez L and (front) Del Rincon, Norcross, and Collins.
