Translation

Actually, it is not for 1000 days. It is just that 3 years times 365 days plus June 27 through June 30, 2008 equals 1098 days, and that is way too cumbersome to convert into a blog headline. Futhermore, our release date will not be determined until May or June of 2011. Therefore, 1000 Days sounded just about right, more or less. Having noted all that, we are humbled and thrilled (Pres. Uchtdorf would refer to the feeling as "joyfully overwhelmed") about having this marvelous opportunity to serve in La Mision Mexico Veracruz.

Elder Maya baptized a complete family about fourteen months before this picture was taken. A few weeks after that, the husband and father was murdered. The wife and daughter remained faithful and prepared to go to the temple to be sealed as a family to the deceased dad. They invited Elder Maya to come and kneel with them as the proxy for the husband. They all arrived at the temple. The good sister had her recommend. The temple always checks data before ordinances. Problem: According to the records of the Church, her husband was still alive! So, they had to go back to the ward and bring his membership up to date. Two weeks later, they met again at the temple, and knelt together, a family now sealed with the missionary doing his part in a very unique way to save them. Forever families. That is the goal.
