Translation

Actually, it is not for 1000 days. It is just that 3 years times 365 days plus June 27 through June 30, 2008 equals 1098 days, and that is way too cumbersome to convert into a blog headline. Futhermore, our release date will not be determined until May or June of 2011. Therefore, 1000 Days sounded just about right, more or less. Having noted all that, we are humbled and thrilled (Pres. Uchtdorf would refer to the feeling as "joyfully overwhelmed") about having this marvelous opportunity to serve in La Mision Mexico Veracruz.

On March 16, 2010 it was my blessing to set apart Jonny Diaz Espinoza as a full-time missonary leaving from the Santiago Tuxtlas Branch. He has been called to serve in the Mexico City North Mission. He is a sweet young man and is the very first missionary ever to be called from that branch of the Church which we organized on March 22, 2009, a year ago. Mom sadly pointed out is likely my last setting apart, too, because the Los Tuxtlas District will now belong to the Villahermosa Mission. But, in these months, our numbers of missionaries in the field from the district has increased from 1 to 12. We have five more preparing their paperwork which should be submitted in June.

There is a lot of love in the branch. As you can see about half the branch came out to the little house of prayer for the setting apart.

What great work is going on this branch . . . how exciting to see these young men preparing for missions! I won't ask you how hard it will be to give them up to the Villahermosa Mission . . .

This casa de oracion reminds me of the little place we rented for church meetings in Miracatu. These little branches and not yet-branches are really fun places to serve.
