Actually, it is not for 1000 days. It is just that 3 years times 365 days plus June 27 through June 30, 2008 equals 1098 days, and that is way too cumbersome to convert into a blog headline. Futhermore, our release date will not be determined until May or June of 2011. Therefore, 1000 Days sounded just about right, more or less. Having noted all that, we are humbled and thrilled (Pres. Uchtdorf would refer to the feeling as "joyfully overwhelmed") about having this marvelous opportunity to serve in La Mision Mexico Veracruz.

One of the weekly goals our missionaries have is to contact 140 people a week. Nothing happens in missionary work until you find someone to teach. Sometimes contacting 140 is hard for some missionaries. So, the Minatitlán zone leaders, Elders Maya and Moyar, determined to invite their missionaries to have a
contacti-zona." You get it, right? Every companionship contacts 140 in the same week. They did it and at zone conference posed together with signs indicating the number of contacts they made in that week.
The results?
Bauti-zona three weeks later. Each of the twelve companionships baptized and confirmed in the same week. The zone is geographically large so they could not get together in Minatitlán to hold a common baptismal service, so instead they flew to Machu Pichu and did it.
